Back home

it s done, the last big step taken, i made my way back home... to the beautiful deutschland - ein wintermärchen...

i read some awsome resumés in the last days but i prefer to keep mine short...
i had the best time ever on this trip and that is on the one hand because i had the best folks supporting me from home and if only by waiting and showing up with a box of beer in time... and on the other hand of course! because of all of u beautiful smart helpful and completely insane freaks i met travelling... u guys made the most boring places special (by introducing penguin lovin in the team) and the most stunning places even more unforgettable...
although i enjoyed travelling on my own once in a while, one of the best experiences of this trip was to realize that the world is full of lovely midgets and i kept running into them...

thx for everything... and thx to all...

hope u guys all had a lovely christmas and will make it with lots of penguin love into the new year!
i for myself have no idea yet, whats going on.. i ll try to keep this blog up even though im not sure if i ll be able to keep the quality that high... i ll try...

keep in touch... the world is bigger than i thought and yet small enough that we might meet somehow somewhere again...

happy new year

euer mattes

well im back home..slowly i start to realize it myself...

some work to do... love being at home...

nack in Buenos Aires.. we spent sunday doin a round in san telmo... handcraft market and heaps of street performance...

and free tango shows..

and before we left.. a little private shower including back massage for those who managed to not slip away---

i spent maybe 2 hours just sitting there, drinking a cold beer and watching water coming down... impressive..

...

thx to alan.. we ignored some dont walk further signs.. and finally found a secret hidden lagoon next to maybe the most massive waterfall... unreal!!!

swimming one.. but as soon as i started to swim towards the falls.. i get pulled back by a shrilling whistle....beach guards...damn

i tryed to count.. but who knows how theres 275.. what counts a waterfall? basicly it doesn t matter.. stunning anyway

...

the powerboat, remarkable 240hp outboarder, twice, into the falls... i had to skip.. out of my budget..

and lucky again... maybe the last zebra-style-long-black-haired-red-tip-caterpilar-butterfly... and now agood friend..

next day... same waterfalls..but htis time from the argentinian side.. the side where u get closer to the falls... and can actually go swimming.. which i was looking forward too so badly.. recall 35 degrees...

we were lucky and found one of three living examples of brazils unique small-ear-long-nose-ringle-tailed-brown-and-in-this-age-venomous-tiger-bear...

the board walk from the viewing tour..from that viewpoint at the end of the boardwalk u might be pretty much as close to peoples imagination of the worlds end (world as a plate) as u can get!!

they call this part the devils mouth... for obvious reasons..

so far my smallest rainbow.. and u could see the whole circle, jepp

i can only say.. 275 waterfalls more impressive, they say, than niagra.. 35 degrees.. blues sky.. brazil...

now its getting hard to pick pictures.. i have som 200 awsome pics.. hope u like these too

parque national iguazu, brazilean side, me and brazilean beer

shortly after that... plane to Buenos aires and directly in the bus to iguazu... my first cama bus..means sleeping seats.. incl. whiskey champain lots of wine.. uahhh

in order to save money i stayed awake allnight and therefore could whitness another beautiful sunrise..in ushuaia habor

changed our rental car for this prehistorical vehicle... to find out it wouldn t drive.. so just a pic with the beagle channel in the background

after 2h walking through deep wet mud... which noone told us before.. we reached laguna esmeralda... i d say not worth it...like ushuaia in general has nothing special besides being very far south and expensive..

after collecting wood all night.. mark had a hard time to walk... he d rather do -action moves- unfortunately on wet ground

camping out ushuaia,,, incl. big fire... mark did a great job getting more and more wood.. saussage on the stick etc..

Ushuaia Buenos Aires Iguazu BA

now back in BA.. have to meet up with alan..

so got to go--

iguazu was a dream and fotos will come..

...

the craziest wedding cruise ever..and we jumped on! ending somewhere out of town..but not even close to a free wedding party.. well u cant always win

my favorite picture motive..mark!

ferry crossing to fireland

Punta Arenas!saving money: hitching there, instead of a hostal.. alan and went partying all night long..

impressinons

jumped some of the floating ice pieces.. incredibly cold on the feet.. and not funny to fall in..

we made to glacier grey... and..

alan in his terrorist suit.. proudly donated by the trash bin in his back

proof for the funky wind/storm occurence.. it just took the water away.. hard to stay on track..

genious tent construction..combining the 2 and 4 people tents ..

and i just remembered how much i love it to be surounded only by snow.. at places nobody has been before..

alan in his counterstrike anti terrorist force suit

alan and me trying to get a vieww on the torres from behind.. it wasnt meant to be.. but hoho for the effort!

the way into french valley the jewel of the park was acompanied by some glaciers and snowcovered mountains.. and funky wind/storm

french valley mountains make u freak out a bit

three things: 1 me cooking, 2 thx alan.. 3 thats his long underwear, so lucky that he was to warm anyway!!

my nikolaus boot! not quite the same like in germany but really a surprise and very funny.. thx
